Vision beyond pixels

the challenge

For decades, mixed reality promised transformation. Tech giants spent billions chasing incremental upgrades, brighter pixels, smaller displays, thinner lenses. But progress stalled.

MicroOLED technology, the industry’s foundation, was nearing its physical limits: high power consumption, thermal issues, and unsustainable manufacturing costs. AR glasses remained bulky, expensive, and constrained by the very displays meant to free them.

Numunon set out to solve what others thought impossible. Their Infinite Light Engine replaces millions of powered pixels with three RGB lasers and a MEMS mirror that projects light directly. Light no longer comes from the pixel, it’s created and shaped in motion.
The result is brighter, cooler, sharper, and ready for scale.

the approach

  • A collage of various digital presentations, including charts, a woman in glasses on a video call, and branding slides for companies like Macro and Overgrid. The layout features colorful, modern graphics and text overlays.

    Brand Strategy

We defined Numunon’s purpose around its name: derived from noumenon, meaning reality beyond perception. The brand’s mission, to make the invisible visible, guided every layer of expression.

  • Colorful digital background with neon light streaks in pink, blue, yellow, and purple, with the Numumon logo and name displayed at the center.

    Narrative Framework

Numunon is changing how we see and interact with the world.

Most companies keep making small upgrades to the same old display screens, brighter, thinner, slightly better each year. Numunon didn’t want to improve what already exists; it reinvented how light itself works in AR, XR and VR technology.

The Broken Promise: Mixed reality never delivered on its potential.

A Different Perspective: The industry was stuck in the wrong architecture.

The Breakthrough: MEMS-based laser projection replaces microdisplays entirely.

  • Posters and digital screens displaying colorful abstract designs, a logo with a circular swirl, and an eye with detailed iris patterns.

    Visual Identity

The visual system blends futurism with restraint:

Logo: At its core lies a luminous circle, inspired by the micro-mirror, the foundation of their optical engine, and the explosive brilliance of a supernova. This symbolism embodies the essence of Numunon’s brand: The micro-scale precision that makes vision possible, and the cosmic scale of discovery it unlocks.

Typography: Geometric, minimal, and engineered — combining precision and clarity.

Palette: A color system inspired by lasers, diffraction and micro-optics. Bright yellow, magenta, and cyan colors create intensity and energy accompanied with gradients living in a spectrum shaped by diffracted laser light.

Patterns: Graphic motifs drawn from MEMS patterns and scanning paths

Motion Language: Light sweeping through micro-mirrors, revealing form through reflection.

    The outcome:
A flexible design system ideal for pitch decks, product pages, and investor materials

the outcome

  • Established clear differentiation between MEMS-based projection and legacy microOLED, helping the team communicate a new product category to partners and press.

  • Crafted a story and visual identity that elevated Numunon’s credibility with deep-tech investors, accelerating interest and readiness for Series A.

  • Turned complex MEMS and optical physics into simple, compelling visuals and language that resonate with both engineers and non-technical audiences.

  • Built a cohesive design system from logo to pitch deck that signals precision, intelligence, and scalability, matching Numunon’s technological vision.
